Sunday Play. Acknowledging the shortage of wickets on Saturdays, matches will be scheduled as required on Sunday spread across all grades — with an endeavour to avoid Sunday play. Type of ball purchased is based on price at the time of purchase. Batting Pods. These focus on ensuring more players are actively involved in each match. The batting pods concept sees each team broken up into 4 pods of 3 players.
For the first match of the season if your batting pod occupies numbers in the batting order, it will shift to numbers in the second match and in the third. The pods will continue to rotate around the order throughout the season. Bowlers who previously got very few opportunities to bat will now be asked to bat in the top order once every 4 weeks. Top order batters will also have to learn to finish off run chases in the middle or lower order.
